I am currently in the process of migrating most of this site chapter to Flickr. Hopefully not too much gets busted in the process...

| 'example one' is characteristic of most images in this gallery. Click on the 'thumbnail' image or caption to display a full-sized version of the photograph. |
'example two' demonstrates an image that has an associated sound clip. A small 'speaker' icon is displayed under the caption to indicate this. After opening the full-sized image, click on the larger 'speaker' icon (in the bottom, left corner of the new window) to start the sound clip. Be warned: sound clips are BIG.
 |
'example three' demonstrates an image that is in fact a motion video clip*. A 'tv screen' icon is displayed under the caption to indicate this. Again, click on the 'thumbnail' image or caption to start the motion video clip. Be warned: motion video clips are BIG.
* AVI (Intel Indeo® video 5.10**) converted using
VirtualDub.
** Newer versions of Windows Media Player are becoming increasingly intolerant of non-Windows codecs. Hands up who's surprised? If your version of Windows Media Player claims that it can't decode the AVI format that I've used you can download and install the Intel Indeo® video 5.10 codec for Windows (iv5setup.exe). |
.icons you will see ...

geourl.org link - list of other web sites associated with the same geographical area as the photos. |
Most photo pages are 'geo-tagged' to allow geographical search engines to work with the page. For more information see geourl.org and/or geotags.com. I've also put up a wee utility page to facilitate the generation of these tags, in case this is of use to anyone else.
All locations from the photo gallery in one Google Earth .kml file.
